Heath, playing up the slope in the first half, started the game with real intent with all the players looking to move the ball around at a high tempo. Good Heath pressure from the forwards in the loose led to a drive up the middle from which Leon Cragg was able to burst over the line for the opening score. Hugo Cordeschi added the conversion meaning Heath led 7-0 after ten minutes. East Grinstead tried to work their way back into the game but ferocious tackling, particularly from the Heath backrow, meant they were unable to make inroads into the host’s territory. Heath continued to run the ball at every opportunity and when a poor clearance kick from East Grinstead went straight to speedy winger Owen Ratcliffe, he was able to beat the cover and sprint in for a try to take the score to 12-0.
At half time Heath introduced their bench and playing downhill looked to put the game to bed and secure the bonus point. Good work from a ruck near the East Grinstead 22 saw full back Cordeschi put into space from which he ran an angle back through the opposition defence and under the posts. Euan McLaren stepped up to knock over the extras to take the score to 19-0 after 5 minutes of the second half. Ten minutes later and Heath were back on the scoreboard and securing the bonus point for their fourth try - from just outside the East Grinstead 22 the Heath backs attacked again and some slick handling worked the ball wide to the right where second row Henry Duffield was lurking to take the pass and crash over in the corner - 24-0.
With 8 minutes remaining more good ball from the Heath pack in the loose gave front foot ball to the backs inside their own half. Cordeschi came into the line at pace from full back and ignoring the support outside him scythed through the East Grinstead defence to run in for his second try of the day. Heath saw out the game without looking like conceding although an earlier covering tackle from Ratcliffe had cut short the visitors best break of the game. So Heath back to winning ways with a bonus point win and without conceding any points against, which will give the squad plenty of confidence for their two remaining league games of the season as they look to make the grand final play off with a top two finish. Heath's next league game will be away at Eastbourne
