Remembering Paul Vander

Tracey Spuyman8 Dec 2021 - 22:43

A rugby man and former Heath Colts coach

Daniel, Beth & Adam Vander are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of their father Paul.

Paul was an avid rugby man, having played for East Grinstead 1st XV in their heyday of the late 60s and 70s! He passed on his passion of rugby to his two sons Daniel & Adam and would watch them both in the youth teams at Haywards Heath and latterly Daniel in the 1st XV and Adam at Richmond and Bath.

One of his proudest rugby memories was watching and supporting the Heath 1st XV in their rise up the leagues when for one season both Daniel and Adam played in the back row together prior to Adam embarking on a professional rugby career. Paul coached and ran Haywards Heath Colts in the early 1990s for two seasons and always kept in touch with the latest news from all at the club.

All in the Vander family will sorely miss and cherish the memories of a wonderful Father, Husband and Grandfather.

The funeral will be held at St Mary’s Church Slaugham on Friday 17th December at 2:30pm and then on to Café 180, Cuckfield Golf Centre, Whitemans Green, Cuckfield to celebrate the life of Paul Vander. All welcome!

Any donations please to St Peter & St James Hospice who looked after Paul’s late wife Stevie in her final days c/o Masters&Sons
