At Haywards Heath we firmly believe in Colts rugby becoming the direct pathway to Senior Rugby. Our role as coaches is to ensure that every player is ready to make the transition to Senior rugby by the end of their Colts journey.
Quite often at U17 and U18, boys have a great deal going on in their lives, so making sure rugby and our club continues to play an active and fun role in their lives is an important aspect of our coaching. Emphasis is on enjoyment and improvement in our training sessions, whilst player led responsibilities/decision making and integrating with the Senior squad on appropriate occasions during the season, play a key role in helping prepare the Colts group for Senior rugby whilst still focusing on an important final season of junior rugby .

We have a mixed ability squad combining Under 17s and 18s. We train on a Thursday evening under lights from 7:00pm to 8:30pm.
All matches are played on a Sunday afternoon, we compete in the Sussex Colts League 1 and Sussex Cup of which we are the current Champions.
